All possible routes to Auronzo di Cadore by car from the various locations will be described below.
Driving along the A27 Venice/Belluno highway, exit at Pian di Vedoia and continue along State Road 51. After passing Longarone and Cadore bridge, at the height of Tai di Cadore, follow the signs for Auronzo-Comelico (SS 51bis).
Once in Lozzo di Cadore, continue to Auronzo (SS 52). After passing Cima Gogna (SR 48) and the exit for Comelico, the Val d’Ansiei opens up, framed by the imposing Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

From the A22 Modena/Brenner highway, take the Bressanone-Brixen exit and follow the former Pusteria Highway 49 in the direction of Dobbiaco-Toblach.
Once through Dobbiaco, take the SS 51 Alemagna road to the right. When you reach Carbonin-Schluderbach (where there is a junction to Cortina d’Ampezzo), turn left towards Misurina, and from there continue downhill towards Auronzo.

From the A23 Palmanova/Tarvisio highway, exit at Tolmezzo and continue on the SS 52 Carnica. Once you reach Villa Santina you have two alternatives:

Once you arrive at the Calalzo station, you will find Dolomitibus buses that connect Auronzo to various locations in the province of Belluno, coinciding with trains. During the summer and Christmas period, a public transport service connects Auronzo and Misurina.
In addition, in the summer months, the Dolomitibus offers some daily runs to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo via Auronzo and Misurina.

Long-distance bus lines connect Cortina d’Ampezzo and Cadore with Treviso, Venice airport, and Mestre train station on a daily, year-round basis.
During the summer and winter high season, routes are extended southward to Rovigo, Ferrara, and Bologna, and northward to Alta Pusteria and Alta Badia. In addition, there are connections between Cortina d’Ampezzo and cities such as Verona, Bergamo and Milan, often in cooperation with FLIXBUS, which also operates routes to Innsbruck and Munich.

Thanks to the collaboration between Cortina Express and Dolomiti Bus, from June 19 to September 9, 2026, a direct connection between Venice and Auronzo di Cadore will be available, making access to the Dolomites even easier without a car.
