Auronzo di cadore
Surrounded by Nature
With over 200 kilometres of marked trails, forest roads and scenic routes, Auronzo di Cadore is an ideal destination for those who want to experience the mountains on two wheels. Cycling here means immersing yourself in the extraordinary scenery of the UNESCO-listed Dolomites: from the Tre Cime di Lavaredo to the Cadini di Misurina, from the Marmarole to the Sorapiss group, riding through silent forests, alpine lakes and ever-changing views at every bend.
The range of routes is wide and suitable for all levels. You can choose flat cycle paths — perfect for a relaxing ride along Lake Santa Caterina — or more technical trails designed for mountain bike enthusiasts. It’s easy to plan sporty days with climbs and dirt tracks through the woods, alternating them with panoramic itineraries that are also ideal for families with children.
From Auronzo, you can cycle to Misurina, admire the Tre Cime up close or tackle MTB routes across Dolomite landscapes and high-altitude alpine huts. Thanks to its strategic location, the village also allows you to explore nearby valleys and mountain passes, turning every ride into an opportunity to discover new views and hidden corners of the Dolomites.
For those who prefer to take on climbs with greater ease, e-bikes are a perfect solution: they allow you to cover longer distances, better manage elevation gain and fully enjoy the scenery without giving up the pleasure of pedaling.
Whether you’re a mountain bike enthusiast, a road cyclist looking for new challenges or a family searching for easy and scenic routes, in Auronzo you’ll always find the right itinerary to make your active holiday truly unforgettable.

If you’re traveling with children or looking for a relaxing ride surrounded by greenery, Auronzo di Cadore offers easy, safe and scenic cycling routes, perfect even with a city bike or e-bike. Here, the mountains are experienced at a slower pace, following the rhythm of nature and enjoying every view of the Dolomites.
Along the left shore of Lake Santa Caterina runs the Auronzo cycle and pedestrian path, stretching for about 8 km and continuing on to Giralba with two crossings of the Ansiei River. The route, mostly on gravel surface, is suitable for everyone: families with children, couples and anyone who wants to ride without hurry. Along the way, you’ll also reach the access area to Monte Agudo, the starting point for the Fun Bob and the Tre Cime Adventure Park. It’s the perfect itinerary for a peaceful morning among nature, scenic stops and perhaps a lakeside picnic.
There is also a cycle path connecting Auronzo to Misurina. The section from Auronzo to Palùs San Marco (about 15 km) is suitable for all levels, ideal for families and less experienced cyclists. From there to Misurina, the route becomes more challenging: along the way, you’ll pass through the beautiful Somadida Forest, the largest woodland in Cadore and a protected nature reserve. Once in Misurina, you can complete a loop around the lake on a mostly flat gravel road.
Thanks to protected cycle paths and quiet secondary roads, these itineraries allow you to experience the mountains in total peace and safety. They are perfect for those who want to enjoy an active yet relaxing day, far from the crowds and immersed in the authentic beauty of the Dolomites.
For mountain bike enthusiasts, Auronzo is a destination full of surprises. The routes wind along forest roads, gravel tracks and panoramic climbs that challenge both endurance and technique — always accompanied by spectacular views of the Dolomites. Here, every MTB ride becomes a complete experience: sport, nature and landscapes that reward every effort.
