A professional musher for decades — as well as an explorer, writer, and educator — he has taken part in Arctic expeditions and prestigious international competitions, becoming a leading figure in the world of sled dog racing. Through his school, based in Tarvisio, he promotes an approach founded on respect for the dogs, safety, and the authentic spirit of this fascinating discipline.

Taking part in a dog sledding experience in Misurina means stepping into a world shaped by nature, cooperation, and authenticity.
The day begins with a meeting with Ararà d Khatchikià n, professional musher, explorer, and founder of the sled dog school International Mushing Team, based in Tarvisio. The musher — the person who drives the sled and works in close harmony with the animals — introduces participants to the discipline, explaining how a relationship of trust with the dogs is built and how to approach the activity safely.
Then comes the most exciting part: meeting the dogs. You learn how to become familiar with them, understand their energy and enthusiasm, and experience a moment of genuine connection. Ararà d then explains the basics of driving the sled, outlining the main commands and how to work together with the dog team.
Once ready, the group moves to a flat area, ideal for those trying sled dog racing for the first time. Here, participants have the opportunity to drive the sled themselves, always under the supervision of the musher: a unique experience made of silence, snow, and the powerful rhythm of the dogs running in unison. The activity lasts about one hour and allows you to fully experience the magic of sled dog racing in one of the most evocative settings in the Dolomites.
The individual fee is €150.00, plus €5.00 for membership and insurance. If the experience is purchased by a company or public body, the price is subject to 22% VAT (€150.00 + 22% VAT per person).
The Misurina experience runs only when a minimum of 15 confirmed bookings is reached. Advance booking is REQUIRED, and confirmation is subject to availability.

In winter, temperatures in Misurina can easily drop below zero (between -5° and -15°C), so it’s essential to dress warmly with technical winter clothing: waterproof jacket, snow pants, gloves, hat, and winter boots.
Pro tip: bring sunglasses and sunscreen, as the sun at high altitude reflects strongly on the snow.
Misurina is about 15 km from Auronzo di Cadore and can easily be reached by car along the panoramic road.
