Things to Do at Lake Antorno

Lake Antorno is a must-see for anyone visiting the Belluno Dolomites. Even if you encounter it only in passing on the way to the famous Three Peaks of Lavaredo, it is definitely worth a stop: whether it is to take some photos or indulge in a short walk. Located less than a kilometer from the Three Peaks access toll booth and conveniently accessible by car, the lake offers spectacular views in every season!

What can you do during a stop at Lake Antorno?

Walks and Relaxation

There are easy and accessible trails around the lake, perfect for those traveling with children or those who want to take a quiet walk surrounded by nature. The approximately one-hour loop around Lake Antorno crosses small bridges and footbridges and is walkable in all seasons. Benches and open spaces make it an ideal place for a picnic or a relaxing stop.

If you enjoy fishing, Lake Antorno is also a great place for sport fishing.

Hiking and Outdoor Adventures

for the more adventurous, Lake Antorno is a starting point for excursions to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Cadini di Misurina, Monte Piana and the surrounding mountain huts. In winter it also becomes a popular place for enthusiasts of snowshoeing e ski mountaineering.

Snowmobiles also depart from here , leading up to the Auronzo Hut at the foot of the Three Peaks, along a route of about 4.5 km. After the ascent, it is possible to return to the valley on foot or have fun with the sledding. The same route can also be traveled on foot, with snowshoes or with touring skis, giving an authentic experience immersed in the winter landscape.

Useful tip: During the winter season, Rifugio Auronzo is closed. However, along the road you’ll find Malga Rin Bianco, a welcoming mountain hut where you can stop for lunch or a well-deserved break.

Photography and Nature

Thanks to its privileged location, Lake Antorno is a favorite among photographers. The lake’s crystal waters reflect the Tre Cime and the surrounding forest, creating spectacular scenes at sunset or when blanketed in snow. How to Get to Lake Antorno

Lake Antorno is located just a few minutes from Lake Misurina, along the scenic road leading to Rifugio Auronzo and the famous Tre Cime di Lavaredo.

It is easily accessible by car from both Auronzo di Cadore and Cortina d’Ampezzo, following the main road that passes through Misurina.
During the summer season, the lake is also served by public buses and tourist shuttles, while in winter it can be reached by car, with convenient parking available right next to the lake.
